Apparently, the Reunion has been moved to Wisconsin for the summer. (Not what we voted on... but hey! No one ever said this was a democractic family!! haha)... Drop a line and let us know if you're coming or not! Hopefully, we'll see a lot of you there. However, I'm aware that many of us are getting married this summer which will make a lot of extra travel inconvenient, at best. If a member of your family is getting married - email me some pictures and details! I'll post them up here, and we'll all be able to keep up! Hope to hear from/see you soon! xoxo ME

Cryptic messages from Cousin John...

If you're a faithful reader of this blog (and pretty sure there are none of you our there that are...), you'll have seen the comment posted by John regarding a change of venue for the next Reunion. What does that mean?? Where are we changing to?? What kind of person leaves such comments without any helpful hints or facts?? And this site is not dead -- it was dormant for a while. I don't feel the need to keep posting things for my own edification, and since no one else seems to read this - I figured let it go for awhile. And the Brewers were awesome this year.... don't ever say differently... Next year will be even greater!!

Ohhhh....hio....

Good fun was had, and pictures will be forthcoming!! Please let me know if you are indeed checking this website! I haven't (obviously) updated anything since around this time last year!!... But if I knew this was a hub of family information, I would be more faithful in my postings. Please don't think this is only for the Reunion information, either! If you'd like me to post news about your branch of the family, or PICTURES!!... or whatever! Just email me, or make a comment - and I will do my very best to get your news up on the site!!

As for my portion of the family that was in attendance at the Reunion -- we had a great time, and it was really good seeing everyone! If only we could get together more often or with less travel time...??

Who will join me??...Part Deux

As written previously... I am doing this Run/Walk for Arthritis in August. I'd really appreciate any support you can give me... moral, financial, etc... I'd LOVE for you to JOIN my team of walkers.. But I'll take whatever I can get. The winning team name is....."Hot Joints"... A collaborative effort (already thinking like a team, ladies!!)... by Jackie, Hannah, and Mary! Congratulations!!

Who Will Join Me??

I have decided to do the unthinkable ... I have decided to walk for charity. Yes. That's right. Not only that, but it's the Arthritis Foundation,...so that seemed like a pretty silly idea when I had to sign the waiver that says I'm physically fit to participate in the walk. If I HAVE Arthiritis, I'm probably not all that fit. But whatever! I'm so doing it!!!... Now all I need is a team... and a team name... and some donations... Anyone who wants to join my team is welcome. Age, race, gender, physical ability... doesn't matter! Even though it's called a run/walk -- there is no running requirement on this team. I will traditionally bring up the rear (as in all athletic events)! Come and join the fun! Answer the call!! August 19th in Milwaukee...

(IF you cannot make it to participate, there are other ways to contribute... cash, obviously,...but we also need a good team name, so that would help out too!!...)

PS... You get free admission to Irish Fest that day, so that'll be cool right? Plus a T-shirt and a goody bag? And the possibility of winning other prizes?? So let me hear those glad "I will join you!"s ringing from the rooftop! I think our Team.... uh... whatever it's name turns out to be... will be AWESOME! Plus it'll be fun. And healthy! And a great way to show someone you know with Arthritis (i.e..me!) that you would love to walk beside my slow self on the way to Irish Fest!

Ohio -- the only state that's high in the middle and round on both ends.. also doubles as the Japanese word for "Good morning!".. So that's pleasant.

A big "thank you" to all who came to the Sallach Reunion (Wisconsin)!! I had a lovely time, and based on most of the comments given at the meeting,... you all did too! To those of you who DIDN'T make it (Cousin Dave? Cousin Steve? New Jersey? FLORIDA? New York?...) you were missed terribly, and you also missed out! A good time was had by all... Or at least so I will assume until I hear otherwise, and since NO ONE in our family ever leaves comments here, my guess is I will remain content in my belief that everyone had a great time.

More notes will be forthcoming, but for now I'd like to thank the Wisconsin branch for putting on a lovely weekend (nevermind that I am, in essence, thanking myself...). I'd like to say "hello!" to my good friend and constant companion throughout the weekend --- Little Rachel from PA, an excellent swimmer and biblical scholar. Sarah Marshall-- thanks for going to the movie with us (despite the thunderstorms!). Daniel, Natalie, Rachel and Caleb -- thanks for the great fun at the sleepover in Racine! Joel, you really missed out but luckily you DID come to the beach on Sunday which partially made up for it.

And a big "congratulations!" to the tying winners of the "Bob Cup" -- Christine Dobke and Sarah Firchow!! Hurray!! Both members of my immediate family... (We kids in Wisconsin put in a very good showing in the beer-tasting: Chris, Sarah - 8/12, Daniel - 7/12, Me - 5/12, and Rachel - 4/12...Not bad. (I'd quote other scores, but cannot remember who got what anymore. Feel free to POST your own scores, by clicking on the "comments" button below.)

Anyway. Since I did nominate Dave Marshall to pretty much every post, I will at least try to help out a little by posting new information here. I'm not sure ANYONE is reading this, but it's a good exercise in organizational skills. So stay tuned.

FURTHERMORE: There is some talk of getting together for Oktoberfest at the Bavarian Inn in Glendale (near Milwaukee). Anyone in the area at that time (mid September, I think??).. should most definitely give a call. Good times will be had! (To further convince you, I could post the pictures of Uncle Wayne at the Bavarian Inn for a soccer game... all I need is to hear the requests for pictures from my loyal readers......)
